Critical Thinking - Essay Example Other rhetoric surrounding senior citizens in terms of stereotypes include such things as they are ââ¬Ëforgetfulââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëchildishââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëbad temperedââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëfrigidââ¬â¢ (women), ââ¬Ëdirty old menââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëcantankerousââ¬â¢, and ââ¬Ëstubbornââ¬â¢. Stereotypes assigned to tattooed people usually involve bad images such as ââ¬Ëpromiscuityââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëaggressivenessââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëdrug addictsââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëtoughiesââ¬â¢ or ââ¬Ëloutsââ¬â¢, and they are very much associated with ââ¬Ëbikiesââ¬â¢ (a bad element who ride motor bikes). Feminists inspire numerous stereotypes that continually change as they go in and out of fashion. The derogatory stereotypes generally relate to women who are ââ¬Ëball breakerââ¬â¢s and ââ¬Ëlesbiansââ¬â¢ because they strive for equality with men. Many women do not identify themselves as feminists because of fear of reprisal created by stereotypical connotations attributed to them (Weibust & Miller, 2007). Politicians are considered as ââ¬Ëliarsââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëbenders of truthââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëmanipulativeââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëliners of their own pocketsââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëfull of their own conceitââ¬â¢. They are probably the most highly stereotyped group of all and the only group that invent stereotypes against each other using negative rhetoric against their opponents.
